TWO OLD PALS

I know of some two old pals
Who once worked at a harbour,
They never had moments for gals,
For they take joy in their labour.

A MILLION THANKS TO PA SAM

He’s a lovely handsome man,
Gentle of soul and good in spirit,
His memories in me cannot leave,
Your deeds of kindness; to me, cleave,
Sir Sam Adewole Olofinnika was there every minute,
This pa Sam; to me, is a rare human!

Pa Sam, he helped me as I grow,
Gave me as much as he got from his labour,
And even for years stood for a mother,
Of a truth there won’t be such another,
He’s “father-of-child”; knowing him is favour,
A million thanks to pa Sam, with you I do glow!

BABY DON’T CRY

Oh baby don’t cry,
Wipe your face to dry,
All you need do is— just try
And never you wry,
Even when your friends pry.

CATS AND MICE

One day; came some cats and mice,
On hay; they all came in mass,
On their way; they strayed and saw an ass
At a bay in May; the time was nice,
As they say: “Arise! Our dreams come to pass”.

A LAD

Once a time; there lived a lad,
From his mime; he was so sad,
Yummy meals he never had,
But one good day; he was so glad,
For with his pay; he ate salad.

A LITTLE SWAN

A little swan from the town’s lake,
With a beetle; swam here for clown’s sake,
It swung around for joy of Horning cake,
But hung on a mound till morning wake.

LILLY OF THE VALLEY

Lilly of the valley,
Bright and morning star,
You have been so pally,
How wonderful you are!
